THE PAPER TOWEL THEORY
(Concept taken from tiffanyblitz.com and hussmanfitness.com)
Let’s assume you go out and buy two rolls of paper towels, each with only 90 paper towels on it. You put one aside, and keep it for future reference (your “before” picture). The other one represents you (I’ll call your paper towel you “Ed”). The cardboard core represents the lean Ed. The towels represent the fat that is covering the lean Ed. For sake of argument, let’s say that Ed wants to lose 9 kilograms of fat, so (90/9) each sheet represents 100g of fat lost. Let’s also assume that Ed loses his fat equally during each day over a few months.
Each day during the first week, you tear a sheet off of Ed, representing the fat he has lost for the day. Next, you put Ed next to the full roll (“Big Al”) for comparison. No noticeable difference!!! Even at the end of the week! This can’t be working for me!
But, being a good Ed, you continue to follow your exercise plan. At the end of weeks two and three, you continue to compare Ed to Big Al, and still notice very little difference. Those stinkin’ trainers MUST be liars!
But Ed is determined! He works hard! Hitting it hard…eating his 6 daily meals. Three more weeks go by, the sheets peeling off day after day, before Ed gets up the courage to stand next to Big Al again. Holy Man! Ed is skinny! OK, not skinny, but less huge!!!
Within a few months, Ed is down to his lean dream, or somewhere near it. Ed is happy. We are happy. Big Al – well he’s not so happy.
The lesson to be learned is that fat, like paper towels, comes off in sheets. When you are heavy, you are big around. And when you are big around, that fat is spread over a MUCH larger area – just like that outside towel sheet. The closer you get to the lean you, the more each lost pound of fat shows, because it is spread over a smaller area.
While the outside sheet may only cover 1 layer of the roll, the inside sheet may go around 4 times. That last sheet looks like it gives you 4 times the results of the first sheet, but in reality, the results are the same – your perception is just different! And you’ll never see the inside, if you aren’t patient while the outside is coming off!

I'm Still Alive!!
I'm just a lazy bum, and don't really have much interesting stuff to say!!
SOOooo today the countdown calendar on my pantry door tells me I'm 26 days out from comp. I remember when it was 50 days away....
26 sounds so scary!! Three weeks and five days sounds heaps longer. Kinda. This is where the headgames come to play, and that's been happening heaps, but I know that's all fairly normal. ;)
I'm really really looking forward to it though! I know I'll love my new 'kini which I should be getting soon :)
So I'm wondering who else is competing in the INBA Brissie Titles on 22nd May? Or who's going to watch?! I've been a bit hit and miss on the ol' blogging scene lately, but I'd still love to catch up with everyone again (whoever is going) and meet anyone I haven't. :)
I'm still considering doing the ANB comp the week after as well - I plan on staying down Brisbane/Gold Coast for a week or two after for some R 'n' R, so I'll def be there. One day I'm doing it, the next I'm not. I'll leave the final decision for a bit longer yet ;).
26 days to go, 26 days to go, hey ho the dairy-o, 26 days to go! EEEEEEEEEEEK!

Look what Eggs The Easter Bunny Left me!!
Whoo Hoo - yes they're back in the supermarkets, with waaaaay better packaging! :)))
About to head to my parent's for a BBQ - I will be strong today, a small treat and that's it. I started the day with a beautiful beach walk, I can't undo it!
Chocolate will go straight to... where I don't want it to go.
Have a great day everyone - I'm off to have a chocolate protein shake, I can trick my stomache!! ;)

Snap Decision
I tend to be really good at those. In some ways I procrastinate for weeks and put things off, but in others, if I make up my mind I DO IT! My mum has always said I'm stubborn with things like that - and it's usually 'big' decisions! Doing the Europe thing at 21 - decided 4 weeks before I was there; then deciding whilst in Venice to move overseas for a year to live/work; then while there deciding to ditch my 'career' from Legal firm to a PT............. gotta keep everyone guessing! Including myself! HA!
On a smaller scale, in December I woke up and decided it was time for a new car; within 4 days I'd paid a deposit. Earlier this week I decided my bedroom needed a change - why not paint it? Four days off - have to keep myself occupied somehow.
So I got the paint and I'm waiting for coat number one to dry! My landlords were fine with it (I would have done it regardless hahaaaa);)
I need to keep myself busy or I go insane. Living by myself has me like a caged animal at times, when I get visitors I pounce on them and can't shut up like a yappy little puppy!!! Plus, I need to keep my mind occupied so I don't fall into the old habits of trolling in the pantry and fridge.
So today being Good Friday it's all about fish! MMmmmm LOVE IT! Tuna and reef fish - yummo! I went into my work this morning to train as my usual gym is closed (as is everywhere in this ghost town!). Mini spring clean, painting, I'll head to Good Friday mass later on, after that more paint and cardio! That'll keep me occupied ;)
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Easter weekend! Enjoy it with your special ones and EVERYTHING IN MODERATION ;)
Is it really worth it??!: ;)
