Bronze Medal

This afternoon was a 6km Cross Country Run. It's actually an Athletics North Queensland event - so was officially the North Queensland Championships. I don't think it's advertised very well however, the majority of competitors were in the kids section (and man, there are some fast kids!). It was a killer run in sand dunes - fighting weeds and creepy crawly things that were easy to trip over. My legs were feeling fine, with no muscle soreness after yesterday (thanks again to my skins!!!) that was, until I actually had to run! I felt like my shoes were full of concrete. Foot went great, gave it only a small amount of strapping, but the soft surface certainly helped. I gave it everything I had in the tank, and came away with the bronze medal :) PLUS I won $25 in the random drawer prizes. Yeehaaa! I really like the sound of "I got bronze in the North Queensland Championships!!!" (however I will not add that there were only 4 competitors in my age group... shhh. LOL!!)

Because now I don't have to run Sunday, which is the norm, I'm letting myself have a total rest day, it's been well over a week since I've done no form of physical activity. OH got home from a 2 day fishing trip tonite, and I was keen to go out and DO something, but he's too buggered. So I'm being a rebel and I've had 2 drinks. whoooeeee. So on that note, I'm feeling a little sleepy...

Congrats on the bronze medal. Never matters how many competitors there is...You were there, put in the effort and came third great job...

Plus $25 what a rewarding day :)

btw haven't had a chance to find the runners mag yet. Hopefully tomorrow...

Oh I answered on my blog ur question, but I ended up buying the Big W ones @ $40. A real great buy and seemed to have some positive feedback so I will see how they go.

At the beginning it felt like they might fall down, but when I pulled up the legs they were fine.

I won't really know if they help, but I felt good running, so maybe thats a good sign
